Consultation Fees

Consultation fees are based on a percentage of the fees recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Consultation fees are payable at the time of consultation by EFTPOS, Credit Card or Cash. Personal cheques are not accepted.

A Concession Consultation Fee is available for CentreLink allowance recipients and health care holders.

Medicare Rebates

A referral from your doctor or psychiatrist is not necessary to see a psychologist. However, if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or psychiatrist, you may be entitled to a Medicare Rebate. We can submit your Medicare claim on your behalf. If your bank account details are registered with Medicare, your rebate usually goes into your account within 24 – 48 hours.

A Mental Health Care Plan authorises for up to an initial 6 Medicare rebates. An addition 4 rebates may be authorised by your GP or psychiatrist upon Review. Patients are entitled to claim up to 10 rebates per calendar year.

 

David maintains regular contact with GP's, and other health care providers with your permission, in order to provide you with optimal and comprehensive care.

 

Please note that David Manks Psychology is not a Bulk Billing practice. As such a co-contribution payment is applicable. However, we aim to make psychological services accessible and affordable to the community.

 

Private Health Insurance Rebates

A GP or psychiatrist referral is not required for a private health insurance rebate. Rebate entitlements depend on your particular private health insurance cover – check with your insurer. Unfortunately, we are not able to submit your private health insurance claims on your behalf.

Other

We are registered with:

  • Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
    TAC consultations are billed to TAC at the determined rate.

  • Victorian WorkCover/WorkSafe
    WorkCover consultations are billed to directly to the WorkCover appointed insurance company, if the WorkCover claim has been approved.

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
    NDIS consultation are billed directly to NDIS at the NDIS determined rate if the patient has NDIS approval.

  • Victims of Crime (VOCAT)
    VOCAT is billed directly at the rate that they determine.

  • Various Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
    The EAP is billed directly at the rate that they determine if the EAP consultation has been approved.
